Job Description

This exciting role involves creating engaging and safe environments for toddlers, implementing the nationally recognized YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, and ensuring positive communication with families. Responsibilities
  • Implement the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum effectively
  • Create warm, welcoming environments and ensure the safety of children through direct supervision, attendance protocols, and age-appropriate programming
  • Provide positive, professional communication with families on an ongoing basis
  • Assist with meal and snack preparation, setup, and cleanup
Requirements
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Early Childhood Education, certified through the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
  • Experience working with toddlers and preschool children and their families
  • Passion for planning and facilitating high-quality play-based experiences for children
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A flexible, collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
  • Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C prior to first day of work
  • Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
