About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Indigenous Wellness Liaison to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation team, you will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of Indigenous patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day consultation and navigational support for Indigenous patients, families, and health professionals
  • Act as a liaison to understand and identify client needs, supporting cultural interpretation and/or health literacy translation services
  • Facilitate client/family access to Cultural Practices and/or access to the All Nations Sacred Space within St. Paul's Hospital
  • Coordinate connections to Indigenous community resources and supports, as required

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the colonial impact on the health care system as it pertains to Indigenous populations
  • Ability to work collaboratively and decisively to support the goals of the Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and healthcare providers
  • Completion of a Bachelor Degree in social work, health care nursing or related discipline is an asset
