About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for heavy civil projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze contract documents to prepare self-perform cost estimates for earthworks, site development, and road building projects.
  • Assemble and organize estimates, including hard-bid, construction management, and design-build projects.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain external pricing.
  • Develop schedules and determine production rates for projects.
  • Monitor project success, identify potential challenges, and build relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities.
  • Attend pre-tender meetings and site visits as required.
  • Work with proposal and operations teams to develop execution methodologies, safety plans, and quality documentation.
  • Present estimates to management for review.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of estimating experience is required.
  • 3+ years of civil construction, project management, and field experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with B2W suite and asset.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and reliable with a positive disposition.
  • Good communicator with attention to detail and good documentation skills.
