Fireproofing Specialist

Job Summary:

Bayview Caulking Inc is seeking a highly skilled Fireproofing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fireproofing and firestopping, with experience in reading blueprints, instructing apprentices, and applying successive coats of compound.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Instruct apprentices in fireproofing and firestopping techniques
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
  • Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in fireproofing and firestopping
  • Ability to work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and repetitive tasks
