Fireproofing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Fireproofing Specialist to join our team at Bayview Caulking Inc.

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Instruct apprentices in various aspects of fireproofing, including the application of successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints.
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster to create weatherproof surfaces.
• Clean and prepare surfaces for fireproofing applications.
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure durability and longevity.
• Fulfill all tasks listed in the job description below.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as construction, engineering or architecture.
• 1-2 years of experience in fireproofing, with knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. They must be able to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and work in a dusty, hot, noisy and physically demanding environment.

Estimated salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
