Job Title: Director of Finance

David Aplin Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and guidance to support the growth and success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Leadership: Provide senior leadership and guidance on financial compliance, policy, and results to support the organization's strategic plan.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Support the organization in implementing the annual strategic plan, work plans, and operational and capital budgets.
  • Financial Systems and Risk Assessment: Provide leadership in financial accounting systems and risk assessment strategies to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Lead the production of timely and accurate management reports and strategize the resolution of complex financial, accounting, and departmental issues.
  • Financial Compliance: Regularly review all financial and accounting systems to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and funding agreements.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Provide oversight and leadership for budget development, financial planning, and reporting within the organization.
  • Financial Policy and Process Development: Collaborate with all departments to implement financial policies and processes.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Financial Data Collection and Analysis: Contribute to enhancing data collection processes, including database development for program delivery.
  • Operational Planning and Management: Oversee the development of operational plans, fiscal responsibility, and the establishment of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead short and long-term strategic planning for the department, including work plan development.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the finance department, overseeing staff, workflows, and managing day-to-day activities for the Finance team.
  • Performance Planning and Evaluation: Provide leadership and support to conduct performance planning evaluations and reviews.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in finance or a related field.
  • Professional Designation: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
  • Skills: Proficient in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles. Proven track record in program funding and budget development. Extensive experience with financial administration systems.
