Unlock the Full Potential of Your Data

We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that meet the evolving needs of our business.

A day in the life of a Data Engineer at Amazon is never dull. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to drive major initiatives forward. Your expertise will be crucial in developing next-generation architecture to support near real-time analytics and operational use cases.

We value diversity and inclusion at Amazon and offer a dynamic and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. Our vision is simple – we want to run the best promotions in the industry through technology. We seek to constantly increase the quality of promotions by identifying the best set of products to promote and using machine learning features to develop forecasting models.

This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience working with big data technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions. If you have a passion for data and enjoy solving complex problems, this may be the perfect opportunity for you to grow your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance current data models and pipelines to support emerging business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvements to data quality, compliance, processing times, cost, and SLAs for existing pipelines.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to develop machine learning features that feed into our next-generation forecasting and ML models.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large datasets.
  • Experience with SQL and at least one modern scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS).
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document, or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).

The base salary for this position ranges from $103,300/year up to $172,600/year. Salary is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a total compensation package, which includes equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to medical, financial, and other benefits.
