Later is expanding its data team and seeking a seasoned Data Architect to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data systems. As a key member of the data team, you will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop pipelines that support machine learning and business intelligence across the organization.

This opportunity allows you to work across the full data stack, leveraging cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing to drive business growth. You will partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design data infrastructure, and implement data governance policies. Your expertise will help shape the company's data strategy, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing comprehensive data architectures, including data ingestion, storage, warehousing, and ETL processes
  • Coding, scheduling, and documenting ETL jobs using Python and relevant libraries
  • Optimizing data infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
  • Developing and enforcing data governance and security policies to protect sensitive information
  • Maintaining and monitoring data pipelines and systems to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with the backend team to ensure consistency and accuracy of data
  • Facilitating the deployment of ML models at scale

  • 4+ years of experience as a data architect or senior data engineer
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing data architectures and pipelines
  • Strong SQL and Python scripting skills, with experience using libraries like Pandas and NumPy
  • Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and workflow management (Airflow, Luigi, Kafka)
  • Passion for data and technology, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions

Our Approach to Compensation:

We take a market-based, data-driven approach to compensation, leveraging trusted sources to determine fair salaries based on function, level, location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, considering performance and market-related factors.

Salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location. Some roles may be structured as On Target Earnings (OTE), while others are Salary only.

We share salary ranges to comply with local legislation and ensure transparency. Final salaries may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors.

In addition to competitive salaries, all permanent team members receive stock options and participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $154,000 CAD
