Job Summary

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Heavy Duty Cleaner to join our team at Compass Group Canada. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, including hard floor surfaces, glass areas, and washrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain hard floor surfaces, including dry mopping, wet mopping, and polishing
  • Strip and finish hard surface floors as required
  • Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactors
  • Operate the compactor and maintain its cleanliness
  • Transport maintenance machinery between floors and job sites
  • Clean glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding, or other extension equipment
  • Clean washroom floors, including washing, stripping, and finishing
  • Clean stairwells and elevator cabs
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and dust ceiling light fixtures and ceiling fans
  • Use pile lifting equipment to restore carpet
  • Shampoo broadloom and use extracting equipment to clean broadloom

Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is required
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Must be able to use cleaning equipment
  • Physical ability to carry out duties of the position
