Cardiac Catheterization Nurse

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct patient care, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of care plans tailored to the unique needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of patient interactions, interventions, and outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in cardiac catheterization and related areas.
- Contribute to the orientation and training of new staff members and students.
- Provide input on policies, procedures, and operational requirements to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two years recent related Cath Lab and/or acute care experience required.
- CPR Training – Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Level I.
- PALS Certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to relate effectively to children and their families and others.
- Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary care team and function as a nursing resource.
- Ability to organize work.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including applicable computer software.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
