Cardiac Catheterization Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Lab at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will provide direct patient care, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and implement direct patient care, including reviewing patient history, developing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting patient information, nursing observations, and interventions.
- Participate in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff and students, including preceptoring and role-modeling.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, including following established emergency procedures and safety practices.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two years recent related Cath Lab and/or acute care experience required.
- CPR Training – Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Level I.
- PALS Certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to relate effectively to children and their families and others.
- Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary care team and function as a nursing resource.
- Ability to organize work.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including applicable computer software.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
