Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with customers and coworkers to solve operational challenges and support system upgrade projects;
  2. Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades;
  3. Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation;
  4. Design electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems;
  5. Develop control strategies to optimize performance and program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications;
  6. Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or technology diploma in electrical engineering (or similar);
  2. Experience in industrial automation engineering an asset;
  3. Experience in pulp & paper, mining, and/or chemical industries an asset;
  4. Resourceful, self-managed, and goal-driven with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English);
  5. Registered as a or AScT in British Columbia;
  6. Practical knowledge of North American standards;
  7. Authorized to work in Canada;
  8. Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).
