Our Automation & Digitalization division is seeking a talented individual to join our Richmond, BC team as a Project Engineer or Technologist. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering high-quality electrical and control engineering projects that enhance plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with customers and coworkers to resolve operational challenges and support system upgrade projects.
  2. Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades.
  3. Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and supporting documentation.
  4. Design electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems.
  5. Develop control strategies to optimize performance and program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications.
  6. Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or technology diploma in electrical engineering (or similar).
  2. Experience in industrial automation engineering is an asset.
  3. Experience in pulp & paper, mining, and/or chemical industries is an asset.
  4. Resourceful, self-managed, and goal-driven, with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English).
  5. Registered as a or AScT in British Columbia.
  6. Practical knowledge of North American standards.
  7. Authorized to work in Canada.
  8. Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).

Other Valued Skills:

  • Consulting engineering experience.
  • Site audit, commissioning, construction, and start-up experience.
