Policy Analyst

Job Summary:
The Manitoba Métis Federation is seeking a highly skilled Policy Analyst to join our Engagement and Consultation Department. As a Policy Analyst, you will be responsible for researching and reporting on political and policy-related matters, drafting briefings and proposals, and facilitating engagement and consultation with Proponents and Governments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze policy-related matters and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Draft and edit briefings, letters, and proposals to support engagement and consultation efforts.
- Facilitate engagement and consultation with Proponents and Governments to ensure Métis rights and interests are represented.
- Liaise with MMF departments, affiliates, and regions to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Build and maintain relationships with Proponents and Governments to advocate for Métis rights and interests.
- Attend meetings and maintain internal engagement and consultation records.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in communications, indigenous studies, social or environmental sciences, natural resources management, or other related discipline.
- Experience in policy and program development, with a focus on Métis rights and interests.
- Excellent public speaking, verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to travel and valid Manitoba driver's license.
