About the Role

The Treasury Board Secretariat is a key central agency leading Manitoba's journey to fiscal sustainability. As a key participant in the development of fiscal strategy, we provide analytical support to Treasury Board, a committee of Cabinet responsible for the overall fiscal management and reporting of government and the establishment of policies required for the effective management of public funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and advice to Treasury Board, senior management, and/or other government officials on complex program and financial issues.
  • Undertake financial projections and analyses and prepare briefing material for senior management and Treasury Board.
  • Establish and independently manage strong working relationships with departmental personnel and senior government officials.
  • Assist and advise departments on appropriate guidelines, procedures, and directives.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in public administration, business administration, commerce, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with a focus on financial and/or business analysis.
  • Experience conducting research, analysis, and providing recommendations on a variety of issues, including the relevance and impact of government policies.
  • Experience undertaking complex program/policy analysis and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of political acumen and experience dealing with confidential, complex, and sensitive materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
