Warehouse Operations Assistant

Job Summary:
As a Dock Worker at Overland West Freight Lines Ltd., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics services. You will be responsible for assisting our inbound and outbound teams to unload and load trucks and trailers with LTL freight, maintaining dock cleanliness, and assisting in finding freight for dispatch and dealing with customers picking up items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial trucks, tractors, and other mobile equipment to transfer cargo around the dock to within range of cranes and hoists.
- Operate winches or other hoisting devices to load and unload cargo onto and from ships and other vessels.
- Perform other activities such as lashing and shoring cargo aboard ships, opening and closing hatches, cleaning holds of ships, and rigging cargo.
Requirements:
- Forklift experience is a must.
- A professional attitude in all interactions when on shift is essential.
- Reliable attendance is a must.
- Experience operating a forklift in a high-traffic space is required.
- Transportation experience is an asset.
- Experience handling dangerous goods is preferred.
