The Residence Dining Hall Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the food service and facilities at Memorial University. As a key member of the Aramark team, you will be responsible for supervising staff, planning and directing daily food service operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and direct food production planning, waste management, and record keeping to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Meet daily with the Manager to discuss operational and staffing concerns, and proactively manage food and labor cost controls.
- Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling, and filling shifts as needed to maintain a high-performing team.
- Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, and verify deposits to ensure accurate financial management.
- Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always followed, and resolve customer complaints as they arise.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees, and follow all policies, rules, and regulations relating to safety, health, and wage and hour.
- 1-2 years supervisory experience in a food service environment, preferably with previous culinary or food production planning experience.
- Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards, and experience recruiting, hiring, and scheduling staff.
- Proven ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and team building skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to work flexible hours, including shiftwork.
