Morrison Hershfield, a leading provider of sustainable solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Building Specialty Services group, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing sustainable building strategies that meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead project teams to develop and implement sustainable building strategies and energy conservation measures.
- Develop and implement approaches to achieve various green building certifications, including LEED, WELL, and FitWell.
- Evaluate and track sustainability measures implemented on projects.
- Communicate sustainability requirements and obligations to client staff, architects, engineers, contractors, and industry representatives.
- Peer review internally and externally developed submittals for submission to green building certification bodies.
- Attend project design and construction meetings and document discussions.
- Manage internal sustainability projects and ensure technical quality and accuracy of work performed.
- Work independently with high expectations for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance with guidelines and procedures.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development.
- Degree and/or diploma in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience in work relating to green building rating systems.
- LEED Accredited Professional in one or more rating systems.
- Ability to obtain a Reliability Clearance with Public Service and Procurement Canada (PSPC).
- WELL AP is a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14091 for GHG Inventory Quantification & Verification is a strong asset.
- Understanding of the requirements of ISO 14091 Adaptation to Climate Change – Guidelines on Vulnerability, Impacts and Risk Assessment.
- Training or experience in Life Cycle Assessment Software (Athena, OneClick, SemaPro) is a strong asset.
- Passion for sustainability and a strong work ethic.
- Organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks on multiple projects.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Professional attitude and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
