Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a course on environmental sustainability, with a focus on project management, communication strategies, and public consultation. The course will be offered in person, on campus.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree and considerable work experience in a senior managerial role in the private or public sector, with a focus on environmental sustainability. They will also have practical experience with project management, networking and negotiation, communication strategies and tactics, public consultation, and social media marketing.

The candidate will be able to communicate effectively with students from a range of background knowledge bases, from economics and political science to the natural and physical sciences and engineering.

Previous experience teaching professional skills or professional development courses to students of diverse backgrounds is considered an asset.

Requirements

The requirements for this position include:

  • Graduate degree with considerable work experience in a senior managerial role in the private or public sector in areas related to environmental sustainability
  • Practical experience with project management, networking and negotiation, communication strategies and tactics, public consultation, and social media marketing
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students from a range of background knowledge bases
  • Previous experience teaching professional skills or professional development courses to students of diverse backgrounds

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
