Environmental Assessment and Permitting Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Assessment and Permitting Consultant to join our Canadian regulatory and permitting team at Environmental Resources Management (ERM). As a key member of our team, you will provide input, advice, and guidance on regulatory, permitting, and environmental impact assessment tasks in support of clients' projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise on environmental and social effects related to mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, transportation, and related developments.
  • Assist project managers in project coordination, project management, and execution of scope, budget, and schedule to meet client expectations.
  • Support engagement activities with communities and stakeholders as part of the project design and regulatory process.
  • Lead and support delivery activities such as impact assessment scoping, regulatory process coordination, permit application scoping, and technical writing.
  • Support development of environmental management plans and delegate work requests to GIS, data compilation, and desktop publishing assignments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, biology, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the resource development industry or environmental consulting.
  • Expertise and experience with Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent writing, communication, organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and awareness or familiarity with project management tools.
