About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Legal Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting our lawyers with administrative tasks, document preparation, and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and organize information for legal documents
  • Prepare comparison documents and draft various types of legal documents
  • Manage files from opening to conclusion, including document proof reading and editing
  • Assist with various projects within the legal department and perform administrative duties
  • Exercise initiative and judgment in assisting lawyers with administrative detail on files
  • Process invoices, cheque requests, and wire transfers
  • Review files to confirm key timelines and deadlines, updating these in legal diary systems
  • Prepare memos, reports, and letters, and field general inquiries from the business
  • Research law and Acts to update legal precedents and documentation
  • Review files and respond to inquiries that do not require a legal opinion

Requirements:

  • College Diploma with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in drafting legal documents is preferred
  • IT contracts experience is an asset
