Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing freight invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling vendor accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process outgoing payments in accordance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely payment to valued vendors.
  • Validate and post freight & rail invoices using a 3-way matching process.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Contribute to process improvements and implement changes as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our documentation and filing systems.
  • Support audit requests and ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and excellent interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in data entry and managing high volumes of information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and strong decision-making abilities.
  • Strong team player with ability to work independently when required.
  • College or University diploma in Administration, Finance, or related field.
