Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Financial Services Specialist to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial and investment planning advice to our clients, while also developing and implementing business development strategies to acquire new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial and investment planning advice to clients to deliver a solution in their best interests.
  • Determine client needs and provide solutions through the sales of managed products and services.
  • Implement business development strategies to acquire new business, including outbound calling campaigns and cultivating branch referrals.
  • Engage customers to grow BMO's business by reaching out, generating appointments, and building new relationships within the community.
  • Identify opportunities during customer conversations to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products.
  • Support the achievement of sales and performance targets.
  • Develop and implement a relationship management plan to meet the needs of clients.
  • Respond to customer investment requests to fulfill investment product needs aligned with the client's goals and refer the client to partners where appropriate.
  • Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Break down strategic problems, and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
  • Introduce clients to investment strategies and work with clients to set goals and make real financial progress using appropriate guidance tools.
  • Probe to understand customer personal investment and banking needs and integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice.
  • Look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall business results and customer experience delivered.
  • Maintain current knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends and integrate into customer conversations.
  • May work at multiple branches and through various channels based on market needs to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Protect the Bank's assets and comply with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
  • Focus may be on a business/group.
  • Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works mostly independently.
  • Broad work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Languages spoken: French & English.
  • Must meet the regulatory / governing body licensing and registration requirements of a Financial Planner in the province or territory of employment.
  • Advanced working knowledge of financial industry.
  • Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.
  • Influence skills - In-depth.
