About the OpportunityThe Clinical Specialist provides critical support to children and youth in care through screening, intake, assessments, and referral services. Utilizing expertise in assessment, best practices, and evidence-based interventions, this role is responsible for delivering focused and creative interventions to meet the unique needs of the youth and families served by The Link: Youth and Family Supports.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to respond to referrals, complete assessments, and develop therapeutic goals designed to support individual youth and their caregivers.
- Work within a Trauma-based, Attachment, and Transitional support framework to provide comprehensive support.
- Facilitate collaboration among all systems involved with youth in the assessment, delivery, and coordination of services designed to meet the youth's goals and objectives.
- Provide ongoing consultation regarding youth treatment, behavior management, and problem-solving.
- Stay up-to-date on policies and treatment philosophy of The Link: Youth and Family Supports.
- Monitor treatment plans and document treatment and client program reporting.
- Complete screening and risk assessments and safety plans for all children and youth referred to The Link Healing Homes.
- Provide clinical consultation and topic-specific training as needed to assist staff and caregivers in developing greater awareness, skills, or strategies consistent with a trauma-informed approach to healing and recovery.
- Consult with The Link centralized intake and assessment team to ensure the best standard of care for our children and youth.
- Represent The Link: Youth and Family Supports in multi-system meetings as necessary.
- Post-secondary degree in Human Services or Social Work.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical setting or social work experience.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to perform a comprehensive treatment assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adherence to ethical and professional conduct.
- Patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Planning and implementation.
- Evaluation and documentation.
- Challenging situations with medium to high-risk individuals in some work environments.
- Satisfactory Child Abuse and Adult Abuse Registry Check, Prior Contact Check, and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Valid Manitoba Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
- De-escalation training.
- ASIST training.
