At Cameco Corporation, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team at McArthur River, the world's largest high-grade uranium mine. As a Maintenance Planner, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve reliability excellence by generating and coordinating weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual schedules, as well as developing complete work order packages and managing material, labour availability, and delivery.

About the Role

As a member of our maintenance planning team, you will work closely with maintenance supervisors and trades personnel to build relationships and foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and digital transformation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating and coordinating site shutdowns
  • Developing repair plans and optimizing maintenance plans to improve maintenance activities
  • Maximizing equipment availability and maintenance worker efficiency
  • Contributing to asset reliability through various continual improvement efforts
  • Creating and modifying work plans to ensure preventive and predictive maintenance efficiencies
  • Managing backlog, reporting, and follow-up
  • Assisting with bills of materials and equipment data, preparing reports, and scheduling support
  • Facilitating daily and weekly schedule meetings

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson trade certificate as an Industrial Mechanic or Mechanical Technologist Diploma
  • A minimum of five years maintenance scheduling and planning experience in a mine setting
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills, working with various levels in the organization
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Previous maintenance planning, coordinating, and/or scheduling experience
  • Previous lead hand/supervisor experience
  • Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification, CMRP designation, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of asset management, reliability, and maintenance execution best practices
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodology, such as LEAN, and/or Six Sigma training
  • Experience in an operating underground mining facility
