Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess patients with cardio-respiratory disorders, providing treatment and education to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including arterial line insertions, intubations, and tracheostomy tube changes, with precision and care.
  • Work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to create a world-class health experience for patients and their families.
  • Contribute to a safe and quality care environment by effectively managing workload, addressing issues, and exercising sound professional judgment.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or eligibility to be hired as a Graduate Respiratory Therapist until successful completion of registration.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate, to be completed within six months from date of hire.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of the inter-professional team.
  • Computer literacy in Windows and a proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Member in good standing of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and the Ontario Society of Respiratory Therapists.
  • Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate.
  • A minimum of one year working experience in an acute healthcare setting, with NICU and Labour & Delivery experience.
  • Ability to speak a second language.
