Job Opportunity

The Registered Respiratory Therapist at Mackenzie Health plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care. As a key member of the interprofessional care team, you will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and providing treatment and education for patients with cardio-respiratory and associated disorders across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including arterial line insertions, adult and neonatal intubations, LMA insertions, and tracheostomy tube changes.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to create a safe and inclusive environment for patients and staff.
  • Contribute to safe, quality care by effectively managing workload, addressing and resolving issues, exercising sound professional judgment, and adhering to best practice guidelines.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or eligibility to be hired as a Graduate Respiratory Therapist until successful completion of registration within six months from date of hire.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate to be completed within six months from date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Member in good standing of relevant professional associations.
  • Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate.
  • A minimum of one year working experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • NICU and Labour & Delivery experience.
  • Ability to speak a second language.
