Clinical Education Consultant, Chief Nursing Office

Job Summary:
The Clinical Education Consultant, Chief Nursing Office will provide expert advice, consultation, and assistance to programs and departments across the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) on projects and initiatives designed to support a quality practice environment and excellence in learning & education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with discipline leaders, educators, and senior leaders to ensure PHSA education/professional development strategy and initiatives relevant to professional practice are achieved.
- Facilitate education, policy, and systems-level discussions regarding professional learning strategies and education plans to meet those needs across PHSA and provincially.
- Implement, deliver, and evaluate specific cross-HA learning programs such as the Educator Pathway.
- Provide leadership in creating, articulating, innovating, and sustaining an organization-wide vision for inter-professional education.
- Participate in policy and procedure development, including those related to educational impacts of clinical informatics on the roles and education needs of the inter-professional team.
- Support organizational strategy deployment, ensuring that professional practice educational priorities are aligned with PHSA and provincial strategic priorities.
- Provide leadership for a wide range of projects designed to address PHSA-wide operational goals and vision.
Requirements:
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in a Health Sciences Discipline (with education focus), plus five (5) years of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience supplemented by two (2) years progressive experience in education program planning & delivery in a health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement learning needs assessments, curriculum, learning materials, a broad repertoire of teaching techniques, practice integration strategies, and evaluation plans.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in facilitation of inter-professional collaborative education.
- Superior organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze situations, develop resolutions, and support remedial action.
- Demonstrated self-starter with a high level of motivation.
- Adaptable and flexible to meet changing priorities and resource constraints.
- Knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Well-developed project planning and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, including the ability to adjust to new or unexpected events.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team and ability to function as an effective leader, coach, mentor, and facilitator.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, and to deal effectively with co-workers, physicians, other healthcare professionals, clients, and their families, and external agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism, and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments.

Salary Range: $106,026 - $152,413 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part-time roles.
