The Opportunity

Harris Leadership Strategies is seeking a visionary leader to drive the success of Project ASPIRE, a comprehensive sustainable protein strategy for Manitoba. As Executive Director, you will be responsible for operationalizing, leading, and growing this innovative project, which aims to make Manitoba a world leader in sustainable protein production.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement a strategic plan to drive Project ASPIRE's internal and external functions, including leadership, strategy, communications, community engagement, and data-information.
  2. Lead and oversee the Project's activities, internal systems, and staff, identifying capacity and competency gaps, and planning for potential organizational growth.
  3. Maintain a contextual understanding of implementation challenges and develop comprehensive solutions to drive project success.
  4. Establish a measurement system to track outcomes and indicators across the initiative, using results to inform learning and continuous improvement.
  5. Ensure effective communications, including website development, to attract new stakeholders to the movement.
  6. Participate in relevant networks and engage with stakeholders to drive project impact.

Requirements

  1. 10+ years of progressively senior experience, with at least 3 years' experience managing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic non-profit, social enterprise, or relevant business environment.
  2. Degree in business, economics, policy, agriculture, sustainability, social sciences, or related discipline.
  3. Resourceful self-starter with proven experience building and leading collaborative teams and generating growth.
  4. Skilled in agile project management methodologies, or equivalent skills and competencies.
  5. Strong understanding of sustainability, with experience in a related field, and a working knowledge of agricultural and food systems.
  6. Strong communication, stakeholder relations, and networking skills, with experience securing funding.
