About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our team at the Commonwealth Bank. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining platforms and tools that make life easier for our product engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement technology stacks and integrations using infrastructure as code principles
  • Troubleshoot and resolve stability issues to increase system resilience and stability
  • Focus on automating deployments, testing, and all kinds of toil
  • Listen to the users of the platform and iteratively evolve the platform to deliver even better experiences
  • Share knowledge and create documentation that is easy to read and understand
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on the team
  • Participate in our overall Engineering community – learning from and teaching others
Requirements
  • Experience performing platform engineering, software engineering, or systems engineering, or another related discipline
  • Cloud certifications in AWS or Azure are useful, but not required
  • Deep knowledge of the technology concepts and stack of one of our platforms
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
  • Scripting and programming skills, and the desire to learn new programming languages
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated track record of showing that you are kind, curious & humble
