Envisioning new technologies that are still waiting to be invented and reimagining products that support our customers and help build Australia’s future economy.Bankwest's Technology division develops and executes all technical change within the organisation ensuring the leverage of technology to deliver the Bankwest strategy. The division works on a wide variety of technologies and initiatives using an agile methodology. Our team is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of the bank – from products and experiences for our customers to essential tools within our business.We are looking for the very best Chief Engineer to join our team as we execute a multi-year transformation program. You’ll have a strong risk mindset and take security from the first line of code approach. You will guide those around you to invest in their own engineering craft and mentor them to build world-class applications.Lead the overall design and engineering for a platform along with providing guidance and oversight to ensure that technical deliveries are aligned to engineering direction and strategy.Have experience building and leading teams through complex multi-year builds ideally gained in a similar role within an enterprise environment or as a CTO in an ASX 200 organization or scaleup.Can define engineering standards, uplift engineering performance, and decide on the frameworks.Can provide technical ownership of key assets, including roadmaps and technical direction.Have a broad technology background with engineering as a core competency and demonstrated experience building enterprise software.Have real-world experience of building and leading teams who operate in the DevSecOps model.Encourage risk-taking and constructively challenge the status quo while influencing stakeholders and building diverse and inclusive teams.We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team: Solid experience working with large scale distributed systems and able to operate in a multi-platform environment.Expertise with automation and designing software architecture in the banking domain.Frontend: React or Angular.
