Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Pastry Chef to join our team at The Kingbridge Centre. This is a permanent position, working 30-35 hours per week.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for preparing and baking high-quality pastries, bread, and cakes. As a Master Pastry Chef, you will work closely with our kitchen team to ensure that all products meet our established standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Bake mixed dough and batters.
  • Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • Draw up production schedules.
  • Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
Work Environment:

You will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, so attention to detail and physical stamina are essential.

Requirements:
  • A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong client focus, judgement, reliability, and teamwork skills.
  • Availability for the advertised start date and willingness to work flexible hours.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including parking availability, awareness training for employees with disabilities, diversity and cross-cultural training, cultural competency training, and staff awareness training for mature workers.

Additional Information:
