About the Job
Fraser Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency team in Maple Ridge, BC. As a Relief Full-Time Registered Nurse, you will be part of a dedicated and experienced team of healthcare providers who work together to deliver exceptional patient care. We are committed to creating a supportive environment that promotes growth and development among our staff.
Responsibilities
As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care to patients in the emergency department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patients and collecting information from various sources using your skills of observation, communication, data review and physical assessment.
- Making a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determining whether the condition can be improved or resolved by appropriate nursing intervention.
- Collaborating with patients and their families/caregivers in developing the care plan and encouraging family participation in the development, implementation and ongoing modification of the care plan.
- Participating in the care and discharge planning process for patients on admission by ensuring the care plan is established and implemented effectively.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with experience in emergency care. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in emergency.
- A strong ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, the public, medical staff and members of the interprofessional care team.
- A commitment to promoting person-centered care and demonstrating empathy for patients and families/caregivers.
