Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Full Time Intervenor to join our team in supporting individuals who are deafblind.
Key Responsibilities- Support Communication and Daily Living: Assist individuals who are deafblind in their daily lives, ensuring they have the support they need to live independently.
- Develop and Implement Support Plans: Work with individuals to develop and implement personalized support plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
- Provide Personal Care and Assistance: Provide personal care and assistance as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Assist with Goal Development and Support: Assist individuals in developing and achieving their goals, and provide ongoing support to help them succeed.
- Document and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records of individual support plans and progress.
- Education and Experience: Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or a related human services field, and experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 35 lbs to 50 lbs on an occasional basis, and to work in a variety of environments, including indoors and outdoors.
- Competitive Wage: A competitive wage starting at $23.03/hour.
