About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at CEFA Early Learning Victoria - Westshore. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development Support: Assist early childhood educators in creating and implementing learning plans tailored to the needs of each child, promoting their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Record Keeping: Collaborate with educators and supervisors to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress and development.
  • Program Implementation: Engage children in various activities, including storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, to foster their creativity and curiosity.
  • Centre Operations: Assist with preparing snacks, arranging rooms and furniture for meals and rest periods, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Communication: Submit written observations and reports to educators and supervisors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience in a childcare setting is an asset, but not required.
  • Certifications: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification or equivalent.
  • Security and Safety: A clear criminal record check and up-to-date immunization records are mandatory.
  • Work Conditions: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, attention to detail, and physical demands such as bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude are essential for this role.

  • Hours: 30 to 37.5 hours per week.
