Position Overview:

The accomplished BC Geomatics team is in search of a skilled British Columbia Land Surveyor (BCLS) to take on the role of Project Manager. This position is crucial for ensuring exceptional client service while fostering a positive work atmosphere within the GeoVerra Team. The role significantly influences both external clients and internal team dynamics, necessitating a commitment to embodying the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values through tangible actions and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead project teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of high-quality work.
  2. Monitor project and team performance, forecasting outcomes and making necessary adjustments to achieve successful results.
  3. Engage in various leadership tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, scheduling, and overseeing attendance.
  4. Manage client expectations and scope adjustments through proactive communication.
  5. Identify and resolve issues related to clients, projects, or team dynamics.
  6. Facilitate effective communication among clients and internal team members to ensure a smooth flow of information, actions, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  7. Ensure compliance with quality, safety, legislation, and industry standards.
  8. Promote a high-performance environment by mentoring and supporting the development of both yourself and your project team members.
  9. Be prepared to travel to various sites as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology or a B.Sc. in Geomatics.
  2. Registered as a British Columbia Land Surveyor (BCLS).
  3. A minimum of 3 years of project management experience with a proven track record in managing client expectations, scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently.
  6. Strong time management and organizational skills, particularly when meeting project deadlines.
  7. Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace.
