We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at Kiki's Luxury Furniture & Upholstery Ltd. as a key member in restoring and creating exquisite furniture pieces for our discerning clients.

Job Title: Furniture Restoration Craftsman

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in reupholstering, refinishing, and repairing antique and modern furniture. You will be responsible for working with various materials, including wood, fabric, and leather, to create stunning and unique pieces that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and assess damaged or worn-out furniture to determine the extent of restoration required.
  • Strip and refinish existing finishes, including sanding, staining, and applying protective coatings.
  • Replace worn-out webbing, springs, and other furniture parts with high-quality alternatives.
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate, and install new upholstery using traditional techniques and modern materials.
  • Tack, glue, or sew ornamental trim, braids, or buttons to add a touch of elegance to each piece.
  • Repair and restore furniture frames, including replacing broken joints and refinishing surfaces.
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to create intricate designs and patterns.
  • Garnish the bottom and back of seats with interwoven rattan for a luxurious finish.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in furniture restoration, reupholstery, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with various materials, including wood, fabric, and leather.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
