Credit Coordinator Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Coordinator to join our team at Bison Transport Inc. As a Credit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our customers meet their payment terms and that our cash flow is managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collection of Accounts Receivable: You will be responsible for collecting accounts receivable from customers to ensure that they meet their payment terms.
  2. Daily Calls to Customers: You will make daily calls to customers to address any payment discrepancies and ensure that they are meeting their payment obligations.
  3. Issue Resolution: You will identify and resolve any issues that may be delaying payment from customers.
  4. Invoice Monitoring: You will monitor the status of invoices via our payables websites to ensure that payments are being made on time.
  5. Payment Trend Analysis: You will identify positive or negative payment trends and investigate any discrepancies.
  6. Statement of Account: You will provide statements of account to customers to ensure that they are aware of their payment obligations.
  7. Credit Worthiness: You will investigate the credit worthiness of new and existing accounts and provide recommendations to the Credit Manager.
  8. Credit Issues: You will communicate credit issues to the Customer Service and Marketing departments and work with them to resolve the issues in a way that is beneficial to the company.
  9. Bill to Codes: You will set up bill to codes for customers.
  10. Miscellaneous Projects: You will engage in other miscellaneous projects or duties as assigned by the Credit Manager.

Requirements:

  1. Education: A college diploma in Business Administration or demonstrated experience in an office environment.
  2. Problem-Solving Skills: A high level of problem-solving skills to resolve payment discrepancies and other issues.
  3. Attention to Detail: A detail-oriented individual with a passion for working with numbers and details.
  4. Multi-Tasking: Ability to manage in a multi-task environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  5. Adaptability: Adaptability skills to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  6. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  7. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear and concise information to customers and internal stakeholders.
  8. Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  9. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills, specifically a proficiency in VLOOKUP and pivots, and experience with TMW and Great Plains is considered an asset.
