About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Transformational Project Lead to join our dynamic team at the University of Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned project manager to lead transformation initiatives and drive modernization of our critical platforms and enterprise applications.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project outlines, charters, plans, and schedules, including stakeholder engagement plans, communication and change management plans, risks and issues management plans.
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure project risks and issues are addressed, mitigation plans are implemented, and project objectives are achieved as per the approved scope of work, budget, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Establish project governance structures and ensure timely delivery of status/progress reports, proposals, change management requirements, and presentations.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path, resolve issues and conflicts, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Coach, mentor, engage, and motivate project team members and contractors to take positive actions and accountability for their tasks/project deliverables.
  • Build positive relationships with all project stakeholders, ensuring timely communications and engagements, and liaise with project sponsors on an ongoing basis.

Your Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and project management certification (PMP) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of eight years managing large and complex projects.
  • Experience leading and managing large and complex modernization and transformation initiatives, including development of strategic plans and roadmaps.
  • Practical knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and practices, with at least two years of experience implementing projects using Agile and DevOps methodology.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and related technologies, including Web Services, Service-Oriented Architecture, Microservices Architecture, distributed architecture, security protocols, identity, and access management technologies.
  • Fluency in standard Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proven project management skills, including methodology, research, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to translate business requirements into models and concepts.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills, able to clearly communicate complex ideas using diagrams, models, and prototypes.
