Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Helper position is responsible for assisting the Maintenance department with various activities. This role will support Tool & Die Makers, Electricians, and Millwrights with priority and preventative maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete new or ongoing projects, including 5S initiatives and tool maintenance.
- Perform necessary audits, such as 5S and LPA.
- Organize and clean shop floor areas as required.
- Suggest corrective actions and continuous improvements.
- Assist with coil storage cleaning and organizing.
- Ensure work areas are clean, neat, and orderly, and free of scrap materials.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures.
- Support team members to achieve work goals and objectives.
- Communicate daily with Team Leaders and team members.
- Back up Production Associate as required.
- Assist in implementing new principles and practices.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.
- Assist in changeovers as required.
- Perform other relevant duties as directed by the Tool Room or Maintenance Team Leaders/Managers.
Requirements:
- Grade 12, GED, or equivalent.
- Apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, or trades-related training an asset.
- Forklift License or ability to obtain.
- Overhead Crane Certification or ability to obtain.
- Aerial Lift Platform Certification or ability to obtain.
- Computer efficiency and systems knowledge in all required areas.
