Learning Experience Designer

PCL Construction is seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As an Instructional Designer, you will play a vital role in creating engaging and effective learning experiences for our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply adult learning methodologies to deliver instructor-led courses or programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop curricula.
- Assess the needs of participants and modify instructional strategies.
- Use rapid authoring tools to develop e-learning to support instructor-led courses or programs.
- Develop standards and evaluate courses or programs, and implement revisions to improve quality.
- Provide company-wide support and consultation services on all matters related to learning and development initiatives at PCL.
- Complete the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of entry-level to intermediate behavioral and technical courses or programs.
- Manage the preparation of course materials, including pre- and post-course work.
- Research and apply best practices and industry trends.
- Monitor and assess learners' development and assess their learning.
- Act as project lead for assigned initiatives and programs and apply the principles of project and time management to track tasks/deadlines for self and a small team.
- Develop and maintain strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience with training delivery and/or facilitation in a corporate environment preferred.
- Understanding of adult learning theory and practices.
- Ability to deliver an instructor-led course to a diverse group of participants with varying knowledge, experience, and backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
- Has project management experience.
- Knowledge of organizational change-management methodologies an asset.
- Intermediate-level business acumen and understanding of industry practices and new developments.
- Ability to research and analyze information.
- Ability to develop and form relationships and gain the confidence of learners to ensure effective facilitation.
- Experience designing and implementing new courses and or programs.
