Food and Environmental Services Director

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Environmental Services Manager to join our team at Seaforth Long-term Care and Retirement Home.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Food and Environmental Services departments, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency in food preparation and environmental maintenance. This is a full-time opportunity that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, organize, and provide high-quality dietary services for residents, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and best practices.
- Supervise and motivate dietary staff, ensuring a high level of productivity and teamwork.
- Ensure the environment of all food preparation and storage areas meets Public Health requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Liaise with residents, families, team members, and government officials to ensure resident care needs are met.
- Participate in the budgeting process and ensure departmental financial management.
- Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or a Registered Dietician.
- Post-secondary education in dietary management and a recognized Food Services Program.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in dietary management in a long-term care setting.
- Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles, and legislation.
