Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Farm Labourer to join our team at Custom Farm Service Inc. As a Farm Labourer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to crop management, farm maintenance, and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crop Management: Apply the technique of hoeing between the row, clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas, maintain and manage growth of vines, vine canopy and grapes, plant, cultivate and irrigate crops, remove manually all suckers and water sprouts, tie and secure plants, and weed.
  • Farm Maintenance: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: We provide physical accessibility accommodations, visual accessibility accommodations, auditory accessibility accommodations, and participate in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: We participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees, assist with immediate settlement needs, support social and labour market integration, and recruit newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Support for Youths: We participate in government or community programs that support youth employment, offer on-the-job training, mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth.
  • Support for Veterans: We participate in government or community programs that support Veterans, offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Veterans, and provide awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.
  • Support for Indigenous People: We participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people, offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, and provide cultural competency training.
  • Support for Mature Workers: We participate in government or community programs that support mature workers, apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, provide staff with awareness training, offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for mature workers, and provide phased retirement options.
  • Supports for Visible Minorities: We participate in government or community programs that support members of visible minorities, apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination, offer mentorship programs, and provide diversity and cross-cultural training.
