Human Resources Generalist

Dessert Holdings Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Delta, British Columbia. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of a superior workforce, fostering an employee-oriented culture, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and support to management on employee relations matters and performance management issues
  • Implement programs to enhance the employee experience and engagement
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Provide exceptional employee support and conflict resolution services
  • Manage WCB claims, investigate, and maintain correspondence with all parties
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and organizing team building activities
  • Participate in recruitment, source, screen, and interview candidates for various roles
  • Prepare termination and severance letters
  • Conduct employee onboarding and assist with training & development initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education: bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • CPHR designation preferred or working towards certification
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a Unionized environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
