Human Resources Generalist

Dessert Holdings Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Delta, British Columbia. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of a superior workforce, fostering an employee-oriented culture, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and support to management on employee relations matters and performance management issues.
  • Implement programs to enhance the employee experience and engagement, driving business results through people.
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreement, participating in meetings with the Union.
  • Manage WCB claims, investigating, submitting paperwork/forms, and maintaining correspondence with all parties.
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits, and organizing team building activities.
  • Participate in recruitment, sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various roles.
  • Prepare termination and severance letters, maintaining confidentiality and employee files.
  • Conduct employee onboarding and assist with training & development initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education: bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPHR designation preferred or working towards certification.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a Unionized environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
