About the Role

As an Advanced Practice Clinical Leader, you will support point-of-care staff in the implementation and evaluation of best practices in the assessment, individual and group treatment for patients with acute psychiatric illnesses and concurrent substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support inpatient point-of-care teams and models of care
  • Role model clinical practice in complex care situations
  • Engage in direct care activities for complex and high-risk clients
  • Lead development of the program's groups programming
  • Support inter-professional collaborative care, academic and research opportunities
  • Promote the implementation and audit of documentation standards
  • Participate in or facilitate quality improvement projects and quality reviews focusing on patient safety
  • Supervise graduate students
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Nursing, and must be a registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (or related discipline).

In addition, 5 years' experience in mental health and addiction treatment is required. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of the complex psychiatric and physical health needs of this clinical population.

Additional qualifications such as CNA certification in psychiatric/mental health, or other relevant certification is an asset. Current CPR/AED certification is required. Eligibility for cross-appointment at the University of Toronto is also required.
