About the Role

5 Star Concrete is seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our team. As a Cement Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our concrete projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Concrete Finishing: Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement, operate power vibrators to compact concrete, and level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
  • Concrete Repair and Maintenance: Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
  • Quality Control: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on best practices for concrete finishing.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Cement Finisher Trade Certification.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and attention to detail.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Dusty, noisy, outdoors, and wet/damp.
  • Work Setting: On-site customer service, willing to relocate, sidewalks and curbs, and various locations.
Personal Qualities
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide excellent customer service.
