The RoleThe Product Quality Optimization Specialist will be responsible for coordinating new product quality and optimizing quality processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including New Product Development, Production, and Engineering, to establish quality standards and specifications for new products.
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret engineering drawings and collaborate with the New Product Development team to establish quality standards and specifications for new products.
- Conduct initial and ongoing inspections of new product samples to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Develop and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection plans, testing protocols, and quality checklists for new products.
- Evaluate existing injection molding processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Work with production and engineering teams to implement process changes that enhance product quality, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste.
- Analyze test results and provide feedback to production and NPD teams.
- Identify, document, and investigate non-conforming products and materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A completion of post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering-related field.
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- ASQ certification is a strong asset.
- Experience in new product development and process optimization is an asset.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficient in using quality inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS), ISO standards, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective solutions.

You will spend almost 100% of your time in the plant environment, requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour.
