Job Summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fueling equipment and vehicles.

Main Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to work orders, obtaining necessary tools and equipment for repairs.
  • Transport vehicles to the service bay for repair, using a variety of methods including driving, towing, or pushing.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify defective or broken parts, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Repair diesel engines, hydraulic, electric, and mechanical systems, and obtain replacement parts as required.
  • Collaborate with supervisors for complex repairs, and complete work orders and provide status updates.
  • Ensure safe and secure operations, adhering to health, safety, security, and government statutory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including changing batteries, tires, oil, and other minor repairs.

Requirements

  • Qualified Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport Mechanic or equivalent, with a minimum of five years related experience.
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty diesel/automotive equipment, and experience with troubleshooting and repair of complex hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Flexibility to work all hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by operational requirements.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and comfortable with bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling various items.
  • Clean driving record, with a certified copy of a Driver's Abstract.
  • Ability to obtain and hold all required security clearances and airport driving permits.
