About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Value Village. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our store, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the sales floor, cash register bays, break rooms, bathrooms, trash areas, and store front.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning high-touch areas.
  • Restock paper products, soaps, and cleaners as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by management.
  • Follow loss prevention procedures and report any internal or external theft to management.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following safety protocols and reporting any hazards or injuries to management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and write.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Knowledge of use and safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
